Drive (1997) was fun

Mark Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison are good in this movie, see this review  https://thedigitalbits.com/item/drive-1997-mvdrewind-2021-bd  if you want a more formal review. I think this is a fair review. Mark’s character has a device in his chest and some bad people want to take it out. Kadeem’s character is in the wrong place at the wrong time and he gets mixed up in this situation. They have a nice buddy chemistry. The fights are good. Props are used at times like the fight in the garage uses tires for example. The late Brittany Murphy is third billed on the box cover but she has a relatively small role. There is a scene where Mark’s character sings, which is fun. Maybe Mark’s appearance in John Wick chapter 3 has made people seek out Mark’s other films. American Samurai is worth seeking out, for example.  This is unrelated to Ryan Gosling’s Drive.

Feast of the Seven Fishes aka Christmas Feast was decent

The film Feast of the Seven Fishes was based on a graphic novel. It is about a large Italian-American family and friends having a traditional dinner on Christmas Eve. One member of the family is Tony, he wants to be a art student. Tony’s friend set up on a blind date with Beth. Beth is not Italian. Tony has an ex-girlfriend Katie. Tony is played by Skylar Gisonodo (I think this was made before Booksmart) and Beth is played by Madison Iseman. Katie is played by Addison Timlin. Katie still has feelings for Tony. There are other characters but I think Tony was the main character. This movie is set in 1983 but I don’t think it overdid nostalgic elements. You could tell the movie was not contemporary but the movie did not seem heavy handed about it. I liked it. I thought the story of Tony wanting to go to art school while his father wanted him to take over the store was interesting.  I am not sure why Amazon.com changed the name of the film.
