Feast of the Seven Fishes aka Christmas Feast was decent

The film Feast of the Seven Fishes was based on a graphic novel. It is about a large Italian-American family and friends having a traditional dinner on Christmas Eve. One member of the family is Tony, he wants to be a art student. Tony’s friend set up on a blind date with Beth. Beth is not Italian. Tony has an ex-girlfriend Katie. Tony is played by Skylar Gisonodo (I think this was made before Booksmart) and Beth is played by Madison Iseman. Katie is played by Addison Timlin. Katie still has feelings for Tony. There are other characters but I think Tony was the main character. This movie is set in 1983 but I don’t think it overdid nostalgic elements. You could tell the movie was not contemporary but the movie did not seem heavy handed about it. I liked it. I thought the story of Tony wanting to go to art school while his father wanted him to take over the store was interesting.  I am not sure why Amazon.com changed the name of the film.

Marry Ellen has a friend named Daniela (Katie Sarife), who has reasons to explore things better left unexplored like the locked room of cursed objects in the Warren home. Because of Daniela’s actions the girls find themselves in danger. The plot might not be great but I did like the three young characters dealing with the supernatural happenings without any adult help. Also I thought the actresses were all good and the teenage girl characters did seem like friends. The movie is set in the 1970s. There are some signs of this bu...
