The Tomorrow War was decent

Chris Pratt’s new movie is decent. People are being taken to 2051 to fight aliens. (This explains the title.) Things are going badly in 2051. Pratt’s character is a science teacher and a veteran.  He is also a father and  husband. This might not be the best use of Pratt’s talents. (He was an executive producer, so that seems odd.) He is not bad exactly but maybe someone else would have been better. The supporting cast is good but I am not sure about J. K. Simmons as Chris Pratt’s dad. (Hollywood genetics don’t make sense at times.)  The aliens have no personality and don’t speak. That is kind of a bummer. The time travel rules seem really strange at first. The movie is a bit long. This movie received some harsh criticism. I wonder if I might have been too generous to this film.  Maybe if I re-watch this, I will post about it again.

More thoughts about Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

My thoughts on Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom were a bit harsh at times but I don’t regret them. It is not an awful movie but maybe watching Pacific Rim Uprising, Rampage, and Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom in a two week period might have been a bad idea. Maybe I should have spaced the films out better. There has been 1 classic movie in the Jurassic series, and that is the first one. It still holds up, I re-watched it a few years back. Maybe one Jurassic movie would have been enough.  There is going to be a third Jurassic World movie. (They teased it at end of the current movie .) The dinosaurs will be out and about and killing people. That could be fun. I might be okay if Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard doesn’t return for the third movie. I don’t hate either character but I might like to see the actors in other movies. I did not hate Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom but if this makes my list of top ten movies seen in theaters this year, I’d be surprised.  (And disap...

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

I am not sure what the subtitle means, if it means anything. It sounds kind of nice and I guess it looks better on the poster than Jurassic World II. Maybe Justice Smith needs a new agent. He is a likeable actor, he can do more then he was allowed to do in this movie. It was nice to see him again after Paper Towns. In this sequel, Claire and Owen go back to the island to save the dinosaurs. The volcano is going to explode. They are hired by a guy played by James Cromwell, who probably shot all his scenes in two or three days. (If adds for this movie are showing a lot of Cromwell, they are are being misleading.) Of course the plot is more complicated than that and there are human villains. Musical score is good and the dinosaurs look good. Chris Pratt and Dallas Howard are good. (I am not sure where Pratt’s character Owen learned to fight in between films.) Toby Jones has a supporting role, and it is good to see him. There is a plot point that I am not sure what the point of it ...
