Sean’s movie thoughts

John Wick Chapter 4 opens soon. (There is no subtitle this time. I guess the writers could not think of one they liked.) I wonder if the movie will be a launching pad for Marko Zaror and Scott Adkins. Marko is from Chile and has made a few appearances in American films. (He was in Undisputed 3, which everyone has seen or should see.) Scott is the current direct to video action king.   I still think there are plot holes in some of the John Wick movies you could drive a truck through. I think some of the lore makes no sense. Are there enough people hiring high class assassins to support this infrastructure? Or are there enough high class assassins working to support a special hotel chain? Most early reviews so far are positive but there have been a few negative reviews.  I will be curious to see how the reviews come in and if a lot of people go opening weekend.

I saw the new John Wick chapter four trailer.  It is always nice to see Donnie Yen on screen. It is weird that he will be a villain. This looks interesting. I will probably watch it. I don’t hate the John Wick films. I just don’t love them but a lot of other people do.  I like the American Ninja movies but probably only love one of them.  I don’t get too excited by trailers. Trailers are fun to watch but it is kind of hard to make a really bad trailer I think. If there are not enough exciting or interesting things in a two hour film to make a 2 or 2 1/2 minute trailer that is bad.  I wish I had more to say but an action movie with Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, and Marko Zaror seems promising.  I am not sure how big Zaror or Adkin’s roles will be.  I guess something could go wrong but that is a pretty good cast for an action film.
