The Disney Fox merger might not happen
Comcast has made an offer for the Fox entertainment properties. This complicates the Fox Disney deal, which seemed to be a done deal at one point. The Disney/Fox merger might not happen and maybe that is not a bad thing. Disney is already pretty powerful. They have leveraged their power recently, an example being the conditions theaters had to meet to play the Last Jedi. (Basically they won some concessions from theaters that made the deal better for Disney, not for the theaters.)With the Fox entertainment properties, Disney would be more powerful. The marketplace would go from having six major studios to having five major studios and maybe that is not good for fans. Also would a combined Fox/Disney studio make as many movies as the two studios do now? I don’t think so. After a point the company would be competing against itself.
