The original Shaft is worth seeing

The original Shaft is worth seeing. (The new one in theaters is not apparently. People might have figured out that is it is not worth seeing because the box office results have been bad.)

John Shaft is a private eye in 1971’s New York. He might be a hero but he cannot get a cab in some parts of New York. Shaft is hired by a gangster to find his kidnapped daughter and Shaft contends with cops, including some who are not friendly towards him. They threaten his private eye license.

I guess is Richard Roundtree’s best known role. He played the role in 2 sequels to this and had cameo roles in the 2000 Shaft and 2019 Shaft. (This is not a series with creative titles.) He has a strong presence.
