Hell Fest needs more Tony Todd

Hell Fest needs more Tony Todd. He has a small part and it is good to see and hear him. It is still pretty good though. This is a movie about a bunch of friends going to an amusement park called Hell Fest. There is a killer in the park though. The performances are decent, the girls are maybe more likable or relatable than the guys. Or maybe the movie does a better job of spotlighting the girls and their personalities than it does with the guys. Bex Taylor-Klaus is the only performer I recognized other than Tony Todd. The park looks really good. Some of the mazes are very nice and it looks the park would be a fun place to go, if not for the murders. Of course the murders taking place in an horror park might seem like part of the act, which is what the killer wants. https://crookedmarquee.com/review-hell-fest/ This is a nice concise review This is worth at least a rental or worth borrowing from a library (or a friend).

Annabelle Comes Home is good

Annabelle comes home is the sixth or seventh film in the Conjuring universe. I was able to figure out what was going on even though I have not seen any other film in the series. In this movie Ed and Loraine Warren have brought the cursed doll Annabelle to their home for safe keeping. The Warrens need to go out of town and leave their daughter Judy (McKenna Grace) with a babysitter named Mary Ellen (Madison Iseman) Judy can see ghosts or at least sense them. Marry Ellen has a friend named Daniela (Katie Sarife), who has reasons to explore things better left unexplored like the locked room of cursed objects in the Warren home. Because of Daniela’s actions the girls find themselves in danger. The plot might not be great but I did like the three young characters dealing with the supernatural happenings without any adult help. Also I thought the actresses were all good and the teenage girl characters did seem like friends. The movie is set in the 1970s. There are some signs of this bu

I finally watched Insidious Chapter 3

I finally watched Insidious Chapter 3. Stefanie Scott stars as Quinn, a high school senior whose mother died. Quinn lives with her dad and her little brother and it is been at least four months since her mother died it seems. Her father is struggling. Quinn wants to contact her mother and has tried alone before asking a psychic named Elise(played by Lin Shaye) for help. Elise tries but cannot contact Quinn’s mother. Elise tells Quinn not to try to contact her mother again and that if you call for one of the dead the rest can hear you. Later is it revealed that some ghost wants Quinn and things start to happen. Quinn is hit by a car and has casts on her legs, which makes her more vulnerable. Elise is brought back it to help and two guys with a web series come along but they are not really prepared for what is happening. I liked this. The performances are good, I thought Scott was likable and she did seemed scared.  The ghost is creepy. There are some creepy moments, including s

Thoughts on Wonder Woman Bloodlines

Rosario Dawson returns as the voice of Wonder Woman in this new animated movie. She is good, she  has been doing the role since 2015 or so.  I hope she reprises the role again. The movie recaps Wonder Woman’s origin but it is not an origin story. Wonder Woman is in exile from Themyscira but she needs to find her way back there because villains are planing to attack. A new villain makes her debut and she is someone out of Wonder Woman’s past. This is good. The Chetah and Giganta appear and so do some other villains. There is a new invisible jet, which was a nice touch. The fight scenes are good. There is a new villain or she is new to me and she might be returning later. While not great, this is good.
