Lisa is a decent thriller

This was a 1990 made for video movie about a 14 year-old girl living with her mother. Her mom does not think Lisa is old enough to date. (Lisa’s father is not in the picture.) Lisa can sound older on the phone and she finds out the phone number of an older man named Richard. Richard is a serial killer known as the Candlelight Killer.

This is decent.  Lisa (Staci Keanan) has no idea the danger that she is in. Lisa’s mother (Cheryl Ladd) might feel that she started dating too young and wants Lisa to avoid that. Lisa’s friend Wendy is allowed to date and Lisa is starting to resent the fact that she is not.

The movie holds up. There is one plot point that seems odd. This feels a bit like a made for TV movie. Also maybe some plot points would not work if the movie was remade and set in today’s time.

Richard is not given a motive, which might be a problem for some people. I did not have a problem with his lack of motive.  I guess since it is not his story, I accept his lack of motive.

It is worth checking out.
