Enola Holmes was decent
Millie Bobbie Brown is good in Enola Holmes, a Netflix movie based off/inspired by a series of books about Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister. Brown is best known as Eleven from Stranger Things but I thought she did a good job as Enola. (Sometimes it can be hard for an actor to take on new roles after being so well known for one role. Sometimes the association with a role is hard to overcome.) Enola is looking for her missing mother.
Henry Cavil plays Sherlock and maybe there is a bit too much of him in this movie. He is not bad in the role but maybe he has too much screen time. It is not his story. The actor playing Mycroft Holmes was decent but I think the character was a bit diminished. Mycroft is as smart/clever (or even smarter) as Sherlock in most appearances but not this one.
The film is not great but Brown was good in the leading role. Maybe a sequel with a smaller role for Sherlock could work. Maybe it just feels like Sherlock Holmes should have a bigger role in any story that he is in and it is odd to see the character in more of a supporting role.
This might be worth re-watching.
