Star Wars seems to be moving to TV/Streaming
Star Wars as a franchise seems to be moving to TV/Streaming. Currently there are no Star Wars movies scheduled for release in the next few years. There is currently maybe one Star Wars film in development. It has been three years since the last Star Wars film.
Is this because the Star Wars shows are so successful? Is this because Solo did not make a lot of money? (That seems to be a unique situation because of the extensive reshoots.) I think the fan backlash to the Last Jedi is somewhat overblown but maybe that could be a factor.
Is making a Star Wars movie harder than making a Marvel movie? Are the stakes too high?
Was the plan to have new Star Wars movies every year a bad plan or overly ambitious in hindsight?
