Fantastic Four First Steps is good and other movie thoughts

Fantastic Four First Steps is good. It is better than the last Fantastic Four movie, which is a low bar to clear. The cast is good and I liked the story. It was kind of odd how rushed the origin of the team is. Maybe studios think skipping the origin lets the film get to the interesting part.  I did not care for the mid credits scene but at least it is reportedly going somewhere, unlike a few mid credit scenes from other Marvel movies. There is a Spinal Tap sequel, some 40 years later. That seems odd. A fair amount of these late sequels have not been good. I don't feel interested in this movie, at this time. I am not even sure if I saw the original Spinal Tap, so perhaps I am not the audience for this. The Strangers Chapter Two is out. Apparently all movies in this trilogy were filmed at the same time, so there is an already a sequel even if this one bombs. (Did the actors and crew get paid for 3 movies?) I have heard this is pretty bad. Even some You Tubers who specialize reviewin...

I Know What You Did Last Summer 2025 was decent and other movie thought

I Know What Did Last Summer (2025) is decent. I am not sure if I will re-watch it.  It was nice to see Freddy Prince Jr on screen again, I thought he shifted to voice over work. The movie hints at a sequel that might not happen. I think Karate Kid Legends is better than this film. To be fair I liked Karate Kid Legends but still think the movie has a few issues. No one has brought up, at least no one I have seen, Indecent Proposal when talking about Robert Redford’s films in the wake of Redford's death. Indecent Proposal was a big hit but it seems to be a bit forgotten. If it got a 25th or 30th anniversary Blu-ray, I didn’t hear about it. I am not an expert on Redford’s filmography. I don’t know of any hidden gems in his filmography to recommend. I liked Barefoot in the Park but I haven’t seen it in ages. Halloween IV is coming back to theaters in October. That should be nice. I might go see it. Halloween IV is one of my favorite horror movies.

Hunt the Wicked was good and other movie thoughts

Hunt the Wicked was good. It might be worth re-watching. City on Fire’s critic gave it 6 out of 10. That seems fair. I re-watched American Assassin. I had not seen it in a few years. I wish it had done well enough at the box office to have a sequel. It is based off the novel series by Vince Flynn and it stars Michael Keaton, Dylan O'Brien and Taylor Kitsch.  Vince Flynn has passed away but other writers have carried on his series about Mitch Rapp. There is a documentary about John Candy called “I like Me”. I might watch it. I liked Candy. I checked and his movie Only the Lonely is not streaming anywhere. That was pretty good as I remember. I am not sure what Candy’s best movie is but maybe Only the Lonely was among his top five.

U.S. Seals 2 was fun and other thoughts

U.S. Seals 2 was fun. I think this was a sequel in name only.  A Navy Seal is brought back to duty to oppose a former Seal who has turned evil. Michael Worth stars as the hero. I had heard of this but never saw it. It was a fun movie. It might be watching again.  I still cannot decide if I want see Jurassic World Rebirth. I heard some good things. I heard some bad things. Oh well I will think about it some more. Prisoner of War comes this month. I have heard good things about the film. Affinity comes out this month too. I have heard good things about this one also.  If they are both as good as I have heard, that will be nice.
