Avengers Endgame Thoughts

This was long but good. It wraps the Infinity Stones saga and the trailers really did not reveal much of the film.  It is kind of surprising in this day and age. (Some movies seem to have their plots revealed in their trailers.)

Five years pass and Ant-man comes out of the quantum realm. He suggests that they use time time travel to get the Infinity Stones. Tony Stark has a daughter now and at first he resists taking part in the plan but he eventually solves time travel.

I enjoyed this. I liked the parts where the Avengers went back in time to get the Infinity Stones. The scenes with Thor and his late mother Frigga, and Tony Stark and his late father Howard Stark were good. The part where Captain America fought his younger self was fun.

The time travel goes wrong and Thanos from the past comes into the present day. He brings his army, and past versions of Gamora, and Nebula. There is a massive fight but it is done fairly well and characters get standout moments. The girl power moment might have been a bit pandering.

If Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans are done with Marvel movies, they both get a good send off.  Scarlet Johansson and Jeremy Renner aren’t given as much material or material as good but Renner has never been given great material in this series. Johansson has not gotten great material in this series either.

Thor becomes fat and depressed in this movie. It is an interesting choice but some people thought it was a cheap joke or fat shaming. It could have been but Hemsworth does good work and the depression comes through.

Brie Larson seems more comfortable in her role as Captain Marvel. I am not sure that she is more powerful than Thor.
